“There is no Sleepy Hollow on the Internet, no peaceful spot where contemplativeness can work its restorative magic. There is only the endless, mesmerizing buzz of the urban street.” Nicholas Carr, from The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains (New York: Norton, 2010)

In this class we took a hard look at what exactly deep ecology is. We even had one of our micro essays as well a question on a test about deep ecology. From what I read about deep ecology and from what I understood from it is that deep ecology is not looking at something from what we want to see, we need to look at that object or environment and ask questions about it because if we ask questions it will lead to deeper questions and then we might just get a better understanding of it and appreciate it a lot more. What humans are doing is that they are just taking it for granted and not really knowing what they are looking at nature is so fascinating because it will always keep its course.
