“There is no Sleepy Hollow on the Internet, no peaceful spot where contemplativeness can work its restorative magic. There is only the endless, mesmerizing buzz of the urban street.” Nicholas Carr, from The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains (New York: Norton, 2010)

"The Farm" (2)
My family owns about 105 acres in a small town in Kentucky the middle of no where called Falmouth. It's about an hour away from here, depending on whether or not you go the speed limit ha ha. We literally grew up here and when my brothers and I were younger we started calling it "the farm" even though we don't keep any animals down there. It is really a very relaxing place, you don't get much cell phone service, we only have a few channels on the TV, and there is no Internet. So a lot of times we occupy ourselves with hunting, fishing, exploring, relaxing, or just sitting around the fire pit. In the summer we are often times found swimming in the lake, which is amazing when its like 98 degrees out and you don't have central air! But one of my favorite things to do is to go sit on the dock alone or with a friend and just sit and relax. Its by far one of my favorite places to just sit and think, or often time not think at all.
